The WOOD FLUTE CUPID
MATCHING THE VOICE OF THE TREE WITH HUMAN BREATH
A flute is not chosen. It is paired.
The Wood Flute Cupid is the spiritual commissioning process of Oakhaven — a process where the voice of the tree is matched to the breath of the player.
THE HEART OF The WOOD FLUTE CUPID
Most people think a flute is an object. But a wooden flute is a relationship.
Every branch carries a personality, a resonance, a story, and a voice. Every player carries a breath, an intention, and a way of listening.
Wood Flute Cupid exists to bring those two together.
This is not a transaction. It is a pairing — a quiet, intentional process that honors both the wood and the person who will one day play it.
THE COMMISSIONING RITUAL
Commissioning a flute through the Wood Flute Cupid begins long before the crafting starts.
1. Listening to You
We begin with a conversation — your breath, your intention, your musical background, your spiritual practice, or simply the feeling you want the flute to carry.
2. Entering the Woods
I walk into the woods with your intention in mind. No agenda. No hurry. Just listening.
3. Asking Permission
I touch the branches gently and ask:
“Would you give me your voice?”
Some branches decline. Some accept. The ones that accept become candidates for your flute.
4. Choosing the Right Branch
The branch that resonates with your breath — your energy, your intention — becomes the foundation of your instrument.
5. Crafting the Voice
The carving, shaping, tuning, and finishing are done with your breath in mind. Every cut is intentional. Every tuning pass is a conversation. Every detail is shaped to match the voice of the wood with the voice of the player.
6. Blessing the Flute
Before it leaves Oakhaven, the flute is blessed — not in a religious sense, but in a way that honors the tree, the land, and the journey that brought it into being.
WHAT MAKES A CUPID FLUTE DIFFERENT?
A Wood Flute Cupid instrument is:
Chosen through ritual
Crafted with your breath in mind
Made from a branch that said yes
Tuned to your intention
Shaped through listening, not forcing
Blessed before leaving Oakhaven
A companion, not a product
This is flute‑making as spiritual practice. It IS Sylvarian!
